DAMASILK VET® provides high tensile strength, with knot-pull tensile strength exceeding the applicable U.S.P. specifications.
Its multifilament construction provides excellent knot security, supporting reliable tissue approximation and ligation during surgical procedures.
The suture is silicone-coated, promoting smooth passage through tissues and helping minimize tissue trauma during placement.
DAMASILK VET® offers excellent handling characteristics, allowing controlled manipulation and easy knot placement.
Although classified as a non-absorbable suture, DAMASILK VET® gradually loses tensile strength over time and loses most of its tensile strength within approximately one year.
DAMASILK VET® is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation and is suitable for a wide variety of veterinary surgical procedures.
It is commonly used in procedures such as dental surgery, skin closure and plastic surgery.
