Key features
  • Absorbable multifilament suture absorbed in-vivo by simple hydrolytic mechanism
  • Excellent tensile strength — surpassing Polyglactin 910 and catgut
  • Tightly braided construction to maximise tensile strength
  • Soft and smooth surface enhances suture passage through tissue without trauma or inflammatory reaction
  • Good knot security with easy knot placement
  • Practical and wide variety of surgical usage
Indications for use

Used in surgical procedures for general soft tissue, including ophthalmic surgery, soft tissue approximation and ligation. Not indicated for neurological or cardiovascular surgery. As an absorbable suture, it should not be used where extended approximation of tissue under stress is required.

Key features
  • Soft and smooth feel for easy passage through tissue with minimal trauma
  • Good knotting properties thanks to modern braiding technology
  • Very high initial tensile strength with excellent handling characteristics
  • Smooth tie-down for consistent, reliable knot placement
Indications for use

Suitable for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, including microscopy and ophthalmic surgeries. Should not be used for long-term wound support or cardiovascular surgery. Being absorbable, it is not indicated where prolonged tissue support is required.

Absorbable · Monofilament
Damadioxanone
Extended-support Poly(P-dioxanone) monofilament for long-term wound closure
Damadioxanone
Composition & construction
Composition
Poly(P-dioxanone) — PDS polymer
Construction
Monofilament
Coating
None — monofilament structure passes through tissue with minimal drag

Key features
  • Absorbable monofilament suture with good knot security
  • High smoothness and softness for minimal tissue trauma during passage
  • Practical handling with high flexibility — easy to work with
  • Very high initial tensile strength
  • Ideal for internal tissues where a long-lasting absorbable suture is preferable
Indications for use

Indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, including paediatric cardiovascular tissue and ophthalmic surgery. Particularly useful where extended wound support up to six weeks is desirable. Not for use in microsurgery, adult cardiovascular tissue, or neural tissue. Should not be used where prolonged approximation beyond six weeks is required, or in conjunction with prosthetic devices such as heart valves or synthetic grafts.

These details are intended for healthcare professionals. If you are a patient, it is important to share the properties and effects of this product with your doctor.
